Insurance and Financing

We want you to know what care costs before it starts. This page explains the insurance and financing options at HealthSource Chiropractic of Roseland in plain words. If anything is unclear, call us at (973) 200-2424 and we will talk it through with you.

Insurance plans we accept

We accept most major insurance plans. Zocdoc lists Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medicare and UnitedHealthcare among the plans we take. However, coverage differs from plan to plan, even within the same company. So please call to verify your insurance plan before your first visit. It also helps to have your insurance card handy when you call.

How Medicare covers chiropractic care

Medicare Part B covers some chiropractic care, but not all of it. According to Medicare’s page on chiropractic services, Part B covers adjustments of the spine by a chiropractor to correct a subluxation. That term means spinal joints that do not move as they should. Medicare does not cover other services or tests a chiropractor orders, such as X-rays. After the Part B deductible, you generally pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount.

Our new patient offer is for new patients only. Ask about our new-patient visit: consultation, exam and X-rays if clinically needed. However, the offer does not apply to Medicare, Medicaid or other federal healthcare program patients, or to ACN members. If you have Medicare, call us before you book so you know what to expect.

Financing when insurance does not cover everything

Some costs may fall outside your plan, or you may not have insurance at all. Either way, we offer financing through Cherry and CareCredit. Financing lets you pay for care over time instead of all at once. Each company has its own application and terms, so read them closely before you apply.

In addition, we offer the APEX discount plan. Ask us how it works and whether it fits your situation.

The Wellness Club membership

Our Wellness Club is a membership with one yearly fee per household. Call us to ask about the current fee and what the membership includes. That way, you can compare it with your other options before you decide.

HSA, FSA and Good Faith Estimates

You may have a health savings account (HSA) or a flexible spending account (FSA). If so, you may be able to use it for chiropractic care. The IRS lists fees you pay to a chiropractor for medical care as a medical expense in Publication 502. Still, account rules vary, so check with your plan administrator first. This is general information, not tax advice.

If you do not use insurance to pay for care, you are a self-pay patient. In that case, you usually have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. You can ask us for one, and you should get one when you schedule care at least 3 business days ahead. To learn more, read the CMS guide to Good Faith Estimates.

Questions about insurance and financing

Cost is a common worry, and we never want you to feel rushed. At your first chiropractic visit, Dr. Jenna Patel, D.C., explains her findings and a personalized care plan before any care starts. Then you can ask about costs and decide at your own pace.

To go over your insurance and financing choices, call (973) 200-2424 or contact our Roseland office. Our office is at 12 Eisenhower Parkway, Suite 1. When you are ready, you can book an appointment online.
