The conditions we treat at HealthSource Chiropractic of Roseland range from back and neck pain to sports, work and car accident injuries. Dr. Jenna Patel, D.C., our owner and treating chiropractor, evaluates each person first. Each short note below links to a page with more detail.

How Dr. Patel evaluates the conditions we treat
Every plan starts with your first visit. First, you fill out a health history questionnaire and talk with Dr. Patel about your pain. Next, she does a physical exam that checks your posture, mobility and pain. We take X-rays on site only if they are clinically needed. Finally, Dr. Patel explains her findings and a personalized care plan before any care starts.
She looks for the source of the problem, not only the symptoms. For a neutral overview of chiropractic care, see the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health.
Back, neck and nerve pain
Pain that runs from your low back down one leg may be sciatica. Our sciatica relief page explains common causes and care options such as adjustments, spinal decompression or guided exercise.
For back pain relief, Dr. Patel looks at how you sit, lift and move during the day. Long desk hours can play a part, so she also checks your posture.
Read about neck pain relief if screen time leaves you stiff and sore. Tight neck muscles may also play a role in some tension headaches.
Our page on headache and migraine relief covers tension headaches and common migraine triggers. It also explains what chiropractic care may help with and what it does not.
Injuries from sports, work and car accidents
Dr. Patel has extra training in sports injury rehab and movement analysis. So sports injury treatment here focuses on strains, sprains and overuse, plus a return to activity at a sensible pace.
A slip or fall at home or in public can leave you sore for days. Our personal injury chiropractor page explains how we examine you and record what we find.
Heavy lifting and repetitive desk work can both strain your body. The workplace injury treatment page covers reporting a work injury and the basics of New Jersey workers’ compensation.
After a crash, get any emergency care you need first. Then read our car accident chiropractor page about whiplash, delayed symptoms and what an exam involves.
Conditions we treat from shoulder to foot
Shoulder and arm pain can start in the shoulder itself or travel down from the neck. Care options may include laser therapy and exercise.
Hand numbness and tingling at the keyboard can point to carpal tunnel syndrome. That page explains what conservative care may include and when to see a hand doctor.
For foot and ankle pain, such as sprains or heel pain, options may include orthotic care, kinesiology taping and exercise.
Stiffness, arthritis aches and overuse can all show up as hip and knee pain. Because hips, knees and feet affect each other, that page looks at all three together.
Other conditions we treat
We also see people with bulging discs, neuropathy and arthritis. In each case, Dr. Patel evaluates you first. That way, you know whether chiropractic care may help before you decide on a plan.
When to see a medical doctor or go to the ER
Some symptoms need urgent medical care, not a chiropractor. Call 911 or go to the ER right away if you notice any of these:
- Chest pain along with arm pain.
- A sudden, severe headache, or new trouble speaking, seeing or moving one side of the body.
- New loss of bladder or bowel control, or numbness in the groin and inner thighs.
- Leg weakness that keeps getting worse.
Also see a medical doctor right away for a hot, red, swollen joint or a leg you cannot stand on. MedlinePlus has a clear guide on when to use the emergency room. This page is educational, not a diagnosis.
